"Curmudgeon" is a wonderful word. "Cantankerous" is a good one, too. I have had a few supervisors who embodied these words.
why so many negative words? Words like 'chipper' and 'swell' will help your outlook on life. maybe 'peachy', 'jovial', and 'vibrant' as well. now that would be 'fabulous'!
